Mégane 225

Turbo charger for Renault hatch thingy

Renaultsport are ready to unleash the Mégane 225 on us. Deliveries of the new car will commence on May 1st.

It's available as a 3 door hatch for £19.5K, or a five door for £20K.

The 2-litre turbocharged four pot engine develops 225bhp at 5,500rpm and 300Nm of torque at just 3,000rpm. This gives the the Mégane 225 has a top speed of 147mph and 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds.

do not agree... not exactly what you'd call pretty but do you think the focus is? or the 307? or any hatch come to think of it...

its different, you have to applaud Renault for being different and personally i quite like it...

I knew the first comment would refer to its looks... I didn't like it initially, but now I think it's rather attractive. The front is really good, while the back grows on you. Top marks for effort.

Oh and even the poverty-spec ones have a credit card key and a proper starter button - very cool.

Not really. Very pointless IMHO.

Its amazing how we've been brow beaten into accepting sexed-up vans as our everyday transport. A few years ago we would not have understood why 300mm of ground clearance was necessary or even why a car needed 4 wheel drive and had to be 2m high. I'm wondering if a saloon car will be something of the past soon. It also worries me that everything will be an MPV soon - even sports cars - oops looks like it is!......the Megane 225!
Secretly I quite like it too - but that's probably because I've now got children :-)

I have 20 grand to spend on a performance car. Let me see. I know, stuff the Impreza; I'm having a slower, fall-aparty French s**tbox with a fat a**e.

Methinks their pricing strategy is a tad optimistic.

I hated it when i first shown but it has grown on me i think it looks better than the 307 which i hated and still do.Modern hatches seem to want to be people carriers is it for safety or is that what people want?now the only decent looking modern hatchbacks is the focus and maybe the stilo 3 door

Oi. My 307 aint no oil painting, but for what it's worth on this (rather biased toward the impractical)forum I still think it looks handsome from every angle but head on where it looks "distinctive" also like the new Megane, very cohesive design. Have to agree the Scoob would make a better buy than this 225 though.

Not sure why the link in the story is pointing to a Pug website though

So do our Company Lagunas' - Total pain in the backside - all the drivers hate them, and you wouldn't believe how easy it is to loose the card compared to a key!

Once it's been chipped and is giving 350bhp it could become a cool car

No, once chipped and trying to put 350bhp through the front wheels it will be a car with its fat a&se in a hedgerow.
