Did anyone hear the contributor on that programme mention that garages and main dealerships do not like dealing with clued up motorists?
Well over thirty years ago, I marked several items on my car which should be changed at the next main dealer service. The Invoice showed those items were renewed and the costs detailed in the bill total. I paid and before driving off, lifted the bonnet to see my marked old items were still in place.
Know what the cheeky plonker behind the counter said when I called them to task.... Please take your business elsewhere in future ... Not just the money, there are other more serious issues..... We really do not need this poxy hassle in the former ...
I have said and written it many times and I make no apology for reitterating it :~

Nothing since has given me cause to change that opinion.
There are some good people out there but they are sometimes difficult to find. When you do find them tell them you are satisfied with their service so much so will spread the good word and recommend to others. This has beneficial effects for all parties as next time I use them, prices and quality of service is not only maintained, but improved including use of vehicle lifts for under the car work and other help free of charge! Me old bones don't like laying under cars for too long now.
