Hi peeps... After weeks of banghead and confused I think i may of found some issues with me 280.. When i wiggle the negative wire from coil the car stalls, Cant see a break but was going to have a fresh wire put in if its not too much greif,I checked the timing and it was 12BTDC as in book, but couldnt of moved it if i wanted too, I think its seized in place(yes i did undo the clamp bolt),I never got round to testing the cylinder press..No tester.. Im gettin fuel, air, spark, Cap and head, timings ok,Sounds ok at low revs but flutters when revved hard,I know the dodgey wire could be the cause and it is worst when its hot but it still does it at cold and warm engine, I do suspect a burnt valve,I think i will take it to someone who knows ford capris(tickover) as its a nightmare at mo and i dont want to drive it...weeping cheers. It is unlikely to be a burnt valve, fixed the simple obvious electrical issues - you will be surprised at how much effect bad coil connection can have especially when the ignition frequency gets high. Check all the obvious things first.

Best of luck

Cheers keatsie, I did wonder if that wire would cause a major issue, Ive been trying to find a DIY remedy, im not too brilliant at lecks but im not a total goof, Or is it a auto electricians job, Ive checked the wiring diagram and it looks relatively easy?(like some girls i used to know),But wondered if there was a pack or kit i could use, Im probably hoping too for much.. cheers mate
