Morning,

The PH lot generally have decent taste.

I am having a black & white kitchen fitted - gloss black units & white quartz stone worktops.

The kitchen is very modern and want to ensure the look does not end up resembling a victorian punlic toilet!

I was thinking off white gloss tiles, but of the larger variety.

Any ideas?

The white gloss sounds good

White IMO. We have the opposite to you-gloss white cabinets with black worktops, tiles are polished black.

Gloss white tiles look exactly like a public toilet IMHO!

I'd go for a cream vinyl to match the worktops. Nicer to walk on too, and drop things onto.

Sorry, I meant more of a marble gloss white finish - so its classy like a hotel lobby as opposed to the public toilette look!

white polished porcelain for me, with a very subtle pattern to take the sterile look away

Marble yes, much nicer - but still hard and cold, and skiddy when wet.

This was my last kitchen... nice but the high gloss is a bugger to keep clean - especially the black!!

Definitely plain white ceramic, large, medium or small with dark grout:

That's what I did in the garage and really really wish I had done it in the kitchen instead of the limestone effect tiles... they just never look clean, whereas all the garage ever needs is a quick mop over and they come up like new!

RAL 7044 or perhaps RAL 7047

If you want to be really adventurous, perhaps RAL 3020,

A resin floor would probably be best, go for a gloss finish but without any sort of pattern.

I'd say either black or charcoal tiles, I'd reckon white tiles may end up grubby and difficult to get back to spec.

We have black tiles in our main bathrrom and while they look great they need attention as they show every little spec and fluff.

Another thought, what about grey travertine? Depends what you can get,- you might need to buy the stuff that is skimmed, honed and filled.

From looking around for white polished porcelain tiles recently, its very hard to find properly white ones, unless you start paying lots!

What about a very modern style orange floor! Black White and Orange is a very good colour combo!

yes I wouldn't go for gloss tiles either, they look nice the minute you have cleaned them, but grubby the rest of the time.
