Should I be worried???

Afternoon all,

Would appreciate some advice from the PH expertise...........

Long story short, new job, needed a banger to get me to and from train station, dilemma.... one day to purchase something, so here's what i bought...

An Audi A4 1.8 auto on a P plate, 145K, tax (sept) MOT (may) some history, 110k approx last service I can find, all for £450. Done a further 1000 miles since having the car and have noticed that the gearbox does not change smoothly at all!! It's like it can't decide what gear to be in and the problem is worse when the car is warm.

Now, I'm unsure whether to get the thing serviced and looked at, but scared of what may be uncovered OR simply wait until it pops, I only use the car to travel 24 miles a day (to and from the train station) and hope to be in a position to replace it with something a bit more fun by the time the MOT is due. The car is only used for commuting, we have a family car that we use the rest of the time and I only drive the Audi, get the feeling I would be throwing good money after bad!?!?!?

Thoughts and opinions are welcomed.....an easy fix would be ideal.

Probably just needs an Automatic Transmission Fluid top up or change.

Engine Oil Yes, transmission fluid Yes also - however not sure how long its been in and when it was last changed.

So could be as simple as that... change the fluid??
