You owe £317 in fine(s) for driving with no tax.

You have admitted driving again with no licence, MOT or insurance.

You also admit possessing cannabis.

You are looking at a possible fine exceeding £5,000 and a custodial sentence of two years.

You are 19 years old and jobless.

What does the magistrate give you?

Sentenced to, "Sit at the back of the court quietly for 35 minutes"!

A six-month ban (much use that will do!) and £100 fine (discharged by the "sitting quietly punishment ) for the motoring offences.

And a conditional discharge for the possession offence.

Now, if it had been you or I ... we'd be picking up the soap and looking at bankruptcy proceedings!

You break in for car keys, steal audi S3, remove £10,000 of goods from house (we were in Thailand)

You have a further 22 breaking in for car keys and stealing cars (including on night of S3, one 911 and 2 XK8/Rs

What do you get?

1 year drug rehab programme. They are victims of society! More like, society are victims of them!

The law is completely ridiculous!

Streaky - I find that story too easy to believe and it is quite absurd!!! Could go on forever about this....

My friends Grandad was knocked off his bike and killed by some dole-scrounging scum who drove off without offering help etc. They had no insurance and were banned from driving. Showed no remorse in court whatsoever.

£300 fine.

At about £10 a week due to being supported by people like us who pay tax.

Clarkson (love him or loathe him) summed it up in his lead article for the Sunday Times Good Car Bad Car supplement

We (motorists) come out with our hands up and our wallets open. Let's face it no 70 year old Granny nicked for 37mph ever leaps out of her Honda shouting "No copper's ever going to take me alive"

can't find a link I'm afraid, the whole article was well worth reading.

The Councillor passed the comment that magistrates were allowing the yobs to run free - adding "This teenager is a typical example of the stupidity of the law"

I would have said "Stupidity of a magistrate who is not fit to hold office!! ("Pillars of society" as once described - indeed! More like PILLOCKS! )

Fuel and fire:

What about that biker who got 6 months for 158 near Bedford! He bought his bike, had insurance and possessed a license. He caused no harm and injured no one. No one was out of pocket and no possessions were taken......

Yet some scum back gets away scot free.... we all might as well sell our cars, nick them when we need them and bugger insurance. But for gods sake, dont speed - you get locked up for that....

Madness - the bloody loonies need to be removed...!!!
