Mazda mx5 blue

Straight to the point! What is the name of this colour blue and for what years was it available?

Pretty sure that blue was only on the 10th Anniversary edition.

That looks like an Anniversary (judging by the ghastly chromed wheels) and according to Wikipedia they were painted sapphire blue mica.

That's a 10th Anniversary special isn't it? Only available 1 year (surprisingly), 1999 I think.

Not sure of the colour name.

That particular colour blue was on available only the 10AE. I've been researching them since my wife bought one last month

OP Check out the colour of my car, that's pretty similar (a touch darker) and was available on a 2005 car as far as I'm aware.

it's nice and my wife would probably prefer it too... i like a nice mid blue though (currently both our cars are the same colour!)

i think i'd just have to go for whatever was out there seeing as that blue wasn;t available. i quite like that gunmetal colour that the ones with bbsish wheels usually come in.

it's a shame there was no 15th anniversary - a direct copy of the 10th because i like the interior on those too.

i know what everyone says but as my only car as a daily driver i think i'd rather spend a bit more money on a newer (2004-6) car.

i know autocar etc thought the sport was over wheeled and the 6spd wasn't as good but i actually like the idea of one of those.

I would have loved one of those, but none were available when I was buying.
The 'Phoenix' SE is quite nice as well and comes with red/black leather which is nice.
Mine is a Sport, so has the 16 wheels (and is slightly over-tyred) 6-speed 'box and a few other niceties.

As people have mentioned, the 10AE (1999) was the only edition in Innocent Blue (UK name). If you want something similiar then you'd have to go for the Mk3 in Winning Blue.

is the red/blck interior as 'sudden' in reality as it is in the pictures..? if so i don;t want that. looks like a picture of a woman in latex bondage gear i saw in the evening standard this week!

i don;t think i want a mk3 certainly not the phase 1 (which is the one in my arbitrary budget!).

It is, I think the Phoenix interior is the better proposition personally. That said, the Euphonic wheels are far better.

Depends which is cheaper - new wheels or a retrim

I agree with hornetrider as well, the Phoenix is the one I would have.
