Hello,

I'm meeting an old friend next week, geographically Birmingham is half way, I've no idea of the place though, can anyone suggest something around the area to do? I guess it'd be easiest to meet at a service station, but, well that's a bit option limiting, so any suggestions would be great!

Are you taking her to a hotel for the night as well? Some nice eateries around brindley place, or if you fancy a drive out into the countryside, take her for a meal at the punchbowl in Chadwick end.

She'll be so impressed you'll be plowing her marmite motorway in no time!

Haha, no hotels or anything like that! Thanks for the suggestions but unfortunately she wouldn't be up for motor museums... Keep the suggestions coming though, would prefer not to aimlessly mooch around somewhere I don't konw (especially on a school night when I can't drink...)

Sorry, 'old friend' made me think you were meeting with an old buddy (male) with a view to a couple of beers and PH-style interests. I didn't realise it was an 'old flame'....

You never know though, the motor museum might really get her wet.

Or not.

Star City? You could always catch up in Nando's?

Or just go to Alum Rock for something cheaper. biggrin

For grub, would recommend Chez Gerrard near New Street Station. No frills French place - great food, not pricey or poncey!

I'd suggest Stratford upon Avon or Leamington/Warwick if they're not too far out of your way.

Warwick Castle or boating on the Avon are both pleasant and there are some nice bars and restaurants in all three towns.
