Car feels very unstable 'wobbely arse'????????????

My car suddenly started to feel very unstable over the rear wheels... when you change lanes or shift any weight it takes a while to settle down?! if you over take its very hard to keep on the road as it lurches about.

The shocks have since been changed, this improved the ride, but NOT the problem I was having.

The wheels had a full alinement... and this hasnt helped

The diff is now knocking badly, and the axle rubs on the chasis if you hit a big bump... these bushes are in urgent need of being replaced (all three), but would this loose diff cause this issue?? I'm concered?

I have had a couple of other un-realted faults too. The LCD dash seems to have given up on me now, can anyone point me in the right direction to getting a new one, and getting it fitted? Also, I changed the thermostat a couple of weeks back (which was working fine) and now the car isnt cooling again... is it possible for a thermostat to fail in this short amount of time!?

I'm also going for a nice shiny new backbox via ACT, so fingers crossed that sounds as nice as I'm expecting. Which reminds me... has anyone done anything new with the heat diffuser on the Tam's? I fancy a drilled steel one... I've not seen it done, but I'd like to have one if anyone has any bright ideas?

My diff bushes were in a bad way for a couple of months and the car didn't feel unstable like you've explained.

POD, I saw www.raceproved.com advertising replacement pods the other day, I did wonder if they were just replacing like for like so it'll go wrong again? May want to give them a shout.

Wobbles - get the car into a TVR specialist who knows what they are looking at. Sounds dangerous to me. Diff bushes do go, but may not be causing more than the knocking.

Thermostat - so why change it then? It sounds like you may have an airlock in the cooling system. Search the forum for how to get rid of this.

I had mine off over the weekend to give her a good clean and really liked the exposed pipe look - not practical as the heat difuser (where the plate goes) helps secure the bottom diffuser and the plate needs to be mounted somewhere lit...

What pipes are those?? I thought only the T350 had two back boxes like that? Looks very cool. I like the carbon one too, I have carbon on mine at the moment, but I fancy a change now... and I want to show off the new back box.

Air lock - yup that sounds like a good shout, I'll do some research on this

handling - Could this be the diff if it was very very loose? Any other ideas if not? it just appeared out of nowhere?

I believe they are the Power pipes - alledgedly the loudest and they certainly make a noise that can only be described as angry

They do look good so would be interested to hear what you decide on.

Have you checked your rear ARB drop links? One of mine snapped recently on my Tusc and it gave similar symptoms. The ARB was hitting the chassis and wishbones causing a bad knocking noise and the rear of the car felt loose.

To go back to the OP post one thing that could create severe instability at the rear would be if the rear toe adjuster outer lock nuts were loose. These are the ones you can see inside the wishbone toe adjuster tube looking in from the wheel arch. Maybe they weren't tightened properly after the alignment.

I shall have a check in that case... but, it only when for the aliment because if felt so unstable in the first place, so I couldn't blame them... and no one touched the car before then?? Strange one?
