How do i become a real Pistonhead?

Hi all
I have been mootching around pistonheads for quite a while and I am very jealous of some of the metal that various members own or have owned, JamieP's supra
for example.
The big problem is im 19 and insurance is rather expensive to say the least, My first car was an Alfa Romeo 145 which was awesome and i replaced that with a Citroen Saxo VTS
which i bought myself for my 18th, although it was an amazingly capable little car I quickly became annoyed with the Barry boy image that the Saxo has been tarred with and I have it up for sale, the Saxo has been replaced by a Ford Focus TDCI sport which is rather lacking in charisma as well as ability, I managed 520 miles to a full tank and it can take a corner reasonably well but to be frank its a bit boring, a bit comfy and a bit to grown up. Im not some boy racer wanting some shagged e36 bmw with an m3 rep body kit i just want something insurable and fun.
Im open to suggestions

To be honest, being a real Pher is a state of mind, you must eat drink and sleep cars, relish driving.
It doesn't really matter what you drive as long as you drive it well, with consideration for your safety and that of others.
I'd recommend you get back to basics for a little while, get something small but fun (with low depreciation) like an Aygo, build up some no claims bonus, save your pennies and then in a couple of years with a good no claims behind you, money saved up over time and a good value car to trade/sell you can take the plunge into the world of performance.
At 19 insurance companies will simply bend you over on anything fast.

why did i know that MX5 was going to pop up 
and maybe one day the choosen few with there multi cyclinder, multi million pound garages and english degrees can welcome us motals into the (carbon fibre) fold.
that said we are all on pistonheads for a similar reason so maybe we should all be friends

Forget the image problems and get back in a VTS. It won't necessarily make you popular on pistonheads, but that's only because a lot of people on here where getting old and grey when the VTS came out. They'd go weak at the knees if you had a good condition standard XR2, even though they are a massively inferior car.

Alternatively post a thread on here making out that you're desperate to fit in rather than using your initiative and realising it's a forum of motivated individuals who work hard and spend their money or hookers, drugs and cars.
