CLK - Boot pressure switch
Discussion
Hi All,
I have a major problem. I cannot open my boot, it's not working at all - no problem I thought, I'll get the cabrio cover to pop and then go in that way and release the boot.... but no! The cover in the boot has popped back and I can't convince the car to open the hood mechanism.
Right, so where are we - I can break in, literally by putting the boot mounted tail-lights through, but I'm not ready to break my car yet, so I've manually unlocked the hood cover using the wrench and managed to force it up a half inch or so, but now... which side of the two guide rails for the cover does the pressure switch sit on? If I can get a coathanger down there and push the switch, I might be able to fool the car into thinking that the cover is pulled over and it is safe to drop the hood.
So... which side is the pressure switch? And once I've got it pressed down, will I have to lock the hood cover again? or will the car proceed with the opening while it's still partially open, so that I can ensure the pressure switch stays engaged while I pull the hood switch?
Thanks for any help!
