Who works in the Automotive industry?

Obviously everyone on here is a bit car crazy, but who takes their favorite past time to the next level and works in the automotive industry (and what is it you actually do!)?

I am about to start at JLR on Product Development - can't wait =D

I work in sales for Land Rover. If your going to be in product development then for JLR you will get to learn the following words which us sales guys are constantly told by people in the know at JLR

"I couldn't possibly comment on future model developments"

I work in marketing for a large aftermarket parts distributor (motor factor) looking after various stuff including our motorsport sponsorship and customer hospitality, marketing communications, franchise garages and a few other bits. I really enjoy it and I'm still a massive petrol head, although you'd be surprised how many people in the industry see cars as a selection of part numbers or a domestic appliance.

Love cars but can assure you sometimes the odd car can really get on your nerves.

How'd you manage to get that?

I really wanted to do just that for an internship this summer, especially PD for Asian (read Indian and Chinese) markets but Tata weren't really bothered...

So I'm spending some time at Honda instead

I own and run a tyre and exhaust garage, although we have very recently moved into servicing and repairs. It can all be a bit stressful at times but I still love it!

I work at the Honda car plant in Swindon making CRvs and Civics,been doing various 'jobs' lately including repair, Quality, line work. Been there over 17 years so have done lots of different things past and present.
