Homebrew Ale Ideas !

Right chaps!
I’m a bit of an amateur brewer and like experimenting with tastes and flavours. My last three brews have been rather successful.
One was a brown ale with toasted oak strips added, which I collected nearby and soaked in Cornish rum, which turned out very nice.
The second was a golden ale which I added Oak and beach leaves which gave a very nice spring like flavour.
The third was a Pale ale which I added elderflower and rose petals which gave a lovely floral fruity flavour.
I am about to brew up a nice batch of Ale for the autumn and would love some ideas for recipes or things that I could add to add unusual flavours.
What do you think! Over to you?

Out of interest, have you ever been to the Blue Anchor, Helston?

The nutty suggestion has made me think sweet chestnuts, but they are still a few weeks away!

regarding ideas: what about a stout with chocolate and maybe a hint of vanilla?
Sadlers make a fantastic stout like this with vanilla and coca pods.More of a summery suggestion but a pale ale with cascade hops and orange peel and coriander is supposed to be nice. The idea of conveying the nuttyness of sweet chestnuts is a cracking idea but I like to think it's still summer!!
Many moons ago I visited a pub (it may have been Wolverhampton but I couldn't swear to it) and that Autumn their on the premises brewed pint was a gorgeous Yorkshire Ale style bitter that had a good taste of Cinnamon, I have no idea how much they used and it was quite strong but didn't taste it.

Last time I was there (2002), there was "Middle" and "Special".The Middle was 5 volts!
Ended up off my face a few times on that.
The strong stuff was Braggart (I think).
It didn't make it into the beer guide this year though (having been one of only 13 pubs in the UK in every edition from the start.
The chestnut idea isn't bad at all. Experiment a bit, also consider experimenting with darker malts too (Amber is a notable for a slightly autumnal looking and feeling brew) also a nice spicy hop variety could be good too.
The latest BEER mag that comes with the CAMRA national newspaper, has got a feature on autumn beers this month BTW, could be worth a look
