PH Favourite....MX 5 Question

Hello all

Long time lurker, newbie poster.

After alot of reading on this forum i've got more and more interested in getting an early 90's mx5.
Obviously i'll be taking a test drive asap but I have a question for the faithful...

For my budget most of them seem to be 1.6's (and Eunos' which i belive are the Imports???)
Is there much performance difference between the 1.6 & 1.8? Are the Eunos' any different in spec to UK cars?

And lastly, just how much fun can a man get in one?

Not much difference between the 1.6 and 1.8 performance wise. Saying that if you go for the 1.6 look for the earlier UK cars as they have more bhp than the later 95bhp 1.6 cars.

Eunos tend to have a lot more special editions (RS Ltd etc which tend to have a higher spec/better diff etc).

If you get one make sure you get the alignment set up by someone like Tony at WIM as this can/will transform the car.

You can have a LOT of fun if one

As said not much difference in performance - 1.8 has a bit more low/mid range torque, 1.6 slightly slower but feels nice and revvy.

And yes, they really are that much fun to drive!
