Both my nephews have hacked gamer points, every single game on max points, I've been waiting for the little s
ts to get banned for a long time, infact I'm stunned it's taken so long to get the hackers banned.
Since all the cheats and hacked gamer points/xp have appeared I've completely stopped playing on my Xbox, fecking cheats really wind me up.

My little brother--in-law keeps rattling on about getting me boosted or whatever it is on MW2 - he doesn't seem to understand that I don't give a sh*t about not quite getting to my first prestige yet - I want to do it my way not by cheating.
In fact after ruining the weekend away we took him on, I might shop him anyway!

Girlfriends a Psychologist and has studied reports about gaming.
She says that the younger generations have no empathic connection with the other players in their online games. They spend so much time doing self absorbed activites and their communication is mostly based in a digital format they've no awareness of sociological norms or expectations when it comes to interacting with others.
In other words, to them the other players are just part of the game made to be beaten. They don't make the connection that they're actually ruining the game for other people by cheating and therefore limiting their playerbase and subsequent enjoyment by doing so.
Hence why gamers that are between 25-50 are regarded as better gamers. Because they learnt certain communicative skills without the aid of modern mediums.

Microsoft were banning lots of people from Xbox Live who set up hacked lobbies where XP could be gained, like the unlimited and constant shooting of Grenade Launchers. This was a while ago but I knew it was happening as I got banned for 5 days myself for playing in one of those said lobbies.

Fascinating stuff. My only query is not about whether they ruin it for others but longevity of enjoyment when you're winning because of a cheat. I remember playing Doom in God mode, but you quickly get bored. Nope, i dont agree with cheating!!
I wish the playstation 3 network would do the same thing, fed up with people wanting to do headshots on COD4 cheating fg cs - Then they have the cheek to get all rowdy when you just play the game and kill them.
You just need to look at the "leader boards" to see the amount of cheating fk wits on there - ban the lot of them.

I'm glad to see this, it might set a precedent. I doubt it will happen with MW2, thousands of people at the top of the leaderboards have obviously cheated, yet IW have done precisely fk all about it in all the months since MW2 has been around, I don't know why they would start now.
It's definitely the kiddies mainly at fault, I once had a go at a couple of kids for boosting, they just couldn't understand what the problem is. "Don't you realise we're only doing it to unlock some titles we can't get!" - the fact that they were ruining everyone else's game did not compute at all. Apparently I was ruining THEIR fun by constantly finding and killing them.
Most of them just want to show off with their mates, it's all about the peer group.
