TVR /rover V8 in fury, well not anymore - i must be dumb

Well i'll admit defeat this time - so if anyone can help it would be a great help.

Driving along - loads of power in the light fury.
At about 110 mph the car studders engine dies. Just done 500 mile all the way from scotland no problems.
Back home - got beautifull spark, good compressions, fuel in carb ( holley 4 barrel )
and valvegear working well.
IT just will not come alive again - not even on 'easy start ' - and that would mean for me that the ignition is not working. But then the dizzy is not touched , and more importantly the spark never seem to wet themselves - which they should after all this cranking over.
I've taken out all 8 sparks and they light with big blue flames, in the correct order.

it must somehow be a inlet leak - explaining why it "sucks" so little our hand if placed above inlet of carb. But surely it should start on easystart ....

Looks like fuel not getting from the carb. Usual cause is blocked jets caused by crud making it's way from the fuel tank and bypassing or otherwise getting past the fuel filter. Looks like whip the carb off and give it a clean and try again

Hi again

so didn't make the race, bummmmmmer

so again have spent 1/2 day being none the wiser - petrol pours out when i pump the loud pedal.
sparks stay dry - which would rightly point to blocked jets - but the it should still start of easy start which it doesn't.
And the petrol which i see collecting in the manifold should get further along into the cylinders.

taking off the inlet is next step - i can only see a huge inlet leak causing this

or am i sidestepping something
