Not a whole tank run (but most of it), but best mileage I've had over a tank so far was 565miles to about 54.5 litres, so about 47mpg, it's a manual,

Is that the 184/204/231/245bhp model?

Recently had 673 miles before I stopped - that worked out as 52mpg brim to brim. I think there was 6 ltrs or so left so could have gone a further 83 miles....so 756.

Thats 231hp auto & climate always on. It was a long motorway trip though, if it were clearer it could have done better but this was cruise @70mph, wonder if I'd dropped to 65mph if that would have made any differnce or would it have been changing down to 5th now & then?
Solution DS select 6th @65mph

What do you want? A medal? 3,000,000 Ugandan dollars? Both?

So you got 670 miles from a tank in a 330d whoopee, i managed over 500 from my 335d on a less than steady run and the light hadn't illuminated but I don't see it as a big deal

um it's a poll. You always kick off/ be agressive/dismissive in posts? If your not interested don't add to the thread simple.

How about those posters who have just bought cars and post then up - big deal let's give them some more or doesn't that fit your exclusive reasoning to post up

Perhaps you should have stated that in your Title/original post it's a Poll? It wasn't terribly clear to me.

Also would have been nice to see your figures there too and not once other posters had added their (lesser) figures.

Take it as you wish it just looked like "ohh look at me I can get over 650 miles out of a tank in my 330d with all my gadgets going whereas you lot can't"

I had a drive of a 100 miles in my son's 330d 204bhp manual (112 k miles on clock) with the computer reading 63.5 mpg. Acheived with careful driving but keeping well up with the traffic, mostly motorway. Its currently doing around 50 driven hard (by him) so I think my figure was accurate.
Beats the hell out of Toyota Prius!!!

Terribly stupid question - is the difference in horsepower defined by the age / revision of the car? I presumed a 330d was...a 330d. I had no idea they had different power outputs.

Its something like…
Late 1999- mid 2003 = 184bhp, late 2003 to 2005 = 204bhp
Late 2005 to Sept 2008 = 231 bhp & finally late 2008 to present day = 245bhp

Thats correct.
MPG wise manual

184bhp combined should be 36mpg
204bhp combined should be 40mpg (6 speed v 5 speed 184bhp + new engine)
231bhp combined should be 45mpg
245bhp combined should be 49.9mpg

So progression in HP & efficiency - incredible however its exactly as I would expect every engineer to operate.

I usually get 530-550 miles before the light comes on. Guess that's 44mpg or thereabouts. Pretty handy to be honest, given that I often get through a tank a week.
