Well, the Tamora's gone and I am now TVRless after two years of ups and downs. I may return but only when it's a second car ... just a little too much aggravation every day ... and to anyone who's thinking of buying a new TVR ... Don't. Get a secondhand one a save yourself a small fortune.

Seemed a fairly level headed post to me, so he probably has a point. There's some good, some bad, and from his profile of two Tamoras and a Chimaera it's not without giving TVRs a fair go.

Just sad to see anyone get so peed off that they lose faith in the marque.

Here's hoping that you get that "second" car soon

I'd go with that. I suspect most TVR owners have them as second cars and bought them second hand. Like him, I wouldn't have one as a main car and I wouldn't buy new - it's just common sense IMO.

I've got a nice one (in my honest opinion) that was second hand and I use it every day. So far it's been a gem and continues to get better with use. The wipers stopped working once, but that was after the car had been left for a week or so. Once it had been driven for a day or so they started to work again. Perhaps the car was protesting at not being let lose on the roads. Herbie goes bananas eat your heart out!

Well I bought new and I couldn't give a toss as I've spec'd it and enjoy it...you don't buy sports cars like this and think with your head do you?

Anyway just remember, if it weren't for people like me....how would you own a second hand car???

So I guess no big problems, Jo, but most Tamora niggles have been detailed on here. There don't appear to be any major issues, just early cars with trim problems, and spec. changes in the first year were a nuisance. Engines and gearboxes, drive trains etc. seem to be fine.

Incidentally I was reading EVO last week, and they have just let their long-term test Audi RS4 go, after 18 months of ownership - and current value is £18k less than new!! £1000 a month depreciation That's nearly half the cost of a Tamora, and that's a very desirable and fashionable Audi.

I noticed of all the Tamoras and T350s advertised nationally in the Auto Trader, only one (a T350) wasn't trade.

Perhaps people are only wanting to sell the problematic ones?

No not necessarily - but selling any Speed Six TVR privately and without a warranty must be extremely difficult.
