Thoughts on this e61 530i
Discussion
What are your thoughts on this car? and the dealer? I am a bit dubious of the dealer (not that i have had any dealings) just don't like carsupermarket ethos. They have had the car up for 3 weeks and just lowered the price by 200. The car is very well priced, good spec colour combo and is post lci so good fuel economy so unsure why not gone yet...might go down tomorrow and have a look.
cheers

why would someone buy a 530i instead of a 530d?
Why ever not? They have a fantastic 272bhp straight six engine thats very economical indeed for a 6 cylinder petrol. If that wasn't good enough, they are usually a fair bit cheaper than the 530d, they dont sound like minicabs and they are faster. What a strange question to ask on a website called 'Pistonheads'!

It'll definitely be ex-fleet, but for the money it looks great. I'd rather have black leather with the MSport interior trim and Platinum Grey, but horses for courses. And it has climate control which is often not found on pre-LCI 530is.
I would add that there doesn't seem to be the same (almost cult) market for petrol-engined E60s as there is for large petrol E39s, so despite being relatively rarer, it probably won't hold its value that well.

It's an LCI.[quote]

Looking at E60 530i M Sport's of a similar age now and they are quite comfortably into 5 figures..
I know it's an LCI - if you wanted to save money on a 530i MSport Touring, you'd have to go pre-LCI and it's very hard to find one with climate rather than basic air-con. Hence my comments.
Fox, by the time you bought your 4yr old 530i Sport, the E60 had been out for a while, I imagine? Once the F10 has been out for a while, I expect the current high-ish E60 values will slide. They sold in vast numbers, probably way more than the E39 judging by their prevalence on motorways, and people still want the diesels over the petrols.
