Windscreen replacement

Has anyone had to replace a windscreen or found problems when fitting during the build process? I had a crack across my screen which would have failed the MOT which is due in a few months so collected a screen from the factory. The old screen came out in one piece but on cleaning up and placing the new screen on the car it failed to fit at the N/S top by the mirror and at the O/S bottom corner. I could put my finger throught he gaps so have to return to the factory for a screen with the "diffierences" that suit my car. Has anyone else had this problem? the rest of the screen fits perfectly.

My windscreen is a little wider than the body at the left and right rear base but I've never had to replace it. Does it fit any other application? Let us know it there is a variance between the replacements and the one that came with your car.

There is a clear varience between the two. l have a feeling l will need to return to the factory with the old and new screens so find one that is closest to the original one. Good job l'm not in the USA.
l could add a picture if l knew how.

I think you may have found that the body (fiberglass bits) may have settled during the years of use. I would suggest you get the factory to fit the screen- thay have done it hundreds of time more than anybody else!

Mine is not a perfect fit but I found that by sliding it around I could find the best fit.
I was not supprised at this as I found that the screen opening moves as you open and close the doors. I left the door final fit until the screen was in at which point it had stiffened up nicely.

I cant see how the glass fibre bits could have settled that much as they were attached to the glass. The gaps are big enough to put a finger through with ease. Good job I wasnt intending to use the car this sunny weekend!
