Just wondering if I am being thick here and missing something obvious, but as standard, is there a way to plug an MP3 player into my XKR? I don't think there is, but I've just seen a 2006 XK for sale saying it has MP3 / iPod connectivity and I didn't think you could even get that as an option?

A dealer can fit an ipod connectivity accessory (also comes with USB connector and phono left/right sockets). BUT you cannot control it from the touch screen - controls are REALLY basic. You do not get track information. Oh, and they want like £500. Not worth it.

I saw a neat little bluetooth device the other day, connects into car speakers with its own amp & bluetooth receiver under the dash. Then plug the bluetoothe accessory into any ipod (or use an iphone that has bluetooth already) and its all controlled by a small jog wheel that can be put discreetly on the dash

company is called io and an example can be found here

I have no connection with the company & have not purchased yet, but it looks good for 100+bluetooth adapter

The ipod connector for the older new style XKR does allow some control from the steering wheel controls, up down track or playlist, but the sound quality is fantastic and was worth it for me. When I got mine it was only 200 quid or so, 500 seems a bit much.
