Always amuses me the way people are happy to receive positive comments but are baffled or outraged by negative ones.
Even funnier are the inevitable 'they must be jealous' responses on here. Why must they be jealous?
Do you think the derision and laughter aimed at boy racers is attributable to jealousy? While the owners of those gaudy-hued st-heaps might fondly imagine so, the rest of us would likely disagree.
The simple fact is, if you drive something out of the ordinary, people will comment. Some will like your car, others won't. Both opinions (and that's all they are) are equally valid, surely?

There's a bit of a difference between someone commenting on your car and calling you a 'Khazakstani'...ETA: I do agree with the everything else you said mind.
