Rubbish wipers

When I got my car it had the normal TVR spec wipers, these sort of worked but needed replacing.

I bought some flat blades from the internet, which work really well apart from a small patch right in the middle of my field of vision. I have tried everything to adjust them but alas no use.

I thought about the Leven kit at £30 for wipers and £30 for the arms (if they are different), then I found this on ebay..

I'd appreciate any thoughts or advice and be aware, the sooner I get perfect wipers the sooner it will stop raining!

I bought wipers from the seller in your first link and they have been fine. They have the right curvature to stay in contact with the screen all the way across and the jets are much neater than the originals.

I recently bought a second set from the same seller when the first one wore out.

In my view there is nothing wrong with the standard wipers, all that needs doing is a little aligning so that they sit parallel to the screen and always make sure the windscreen is wet before operating the wipers.
On mine I have the same angled wiper on the passenger side as on the drivers side so that it does not stick up and block the passengers field of view. Cost of each wiper for mine is £1,99p

I bought a set of those on the first link 2 years ago for the Griff after buying some Bosch ones that didn't bend enough - still fine.

I'd seen the advert for the flat ones and was wondering if they'd bend enough - be interested if anyone has tried them.

Replaced the arms. Washer jets and blades on mine. Tvr arms and upgraded jets. Flat blade wipers they are better. But the passenger sude don't touch the sides of the screen when in there parked position but an improvement

Costco have Goodyear flat blade wipers for sale, they curve much much more than the original ones on the Cerb so should be a nice snug fit to the screen. £14 a pair. I just don't need any so not tried them.

I have tried the flat blades and found they didn't have the right curvature for the screen. I took them off again and went back to the traditional ones after my first drive in heavy spray with them.

edit: I just looked at the car & realised I've actually got the blades sitting even lower, so they look a bit better than this now.

As you can see the Leven arms hold the blades in a much nicer position & are neater. I've got the flat blade types on my other car & they only work in one direction so they are not great.

The Leven ones are very good. You don't have to get the arms, but the leven ones have the pipe going up inside the arm, you could do this with the originals but you will be left with holes in your old arms where spray pipes were attached (this would be the same if you got those ebay ones). As you can see my old ones were tatty as well so the new arms made sense. New arms with new springs can't hurt the wipers action either...

They are old pics the tax isn't that out of date!

Only worn standard.....


and Leven....


Leven actually look like they're designed for the car and lie in the recess of the over-bonnet airflow. They never do 'The Creep' up the screen and I don't know what they're made of but they've been on for four years and have not needed replacing.

Dont buy the ones in the lower link (the blade type)...I bought a set a few weeks ago, put them on, got caught in the rain an hour later and they are sh*te!!! Sent them straight back & got a full refund. Car was due a MOT a couple of days later so I opted for a set of cheapy's (£5 each) from the the local car shop & they work a treat!!!
