Ok, well while i'm sat here waiting for an engine to arrive i'm contemplating the next purchase, as you do.
My current steed is a modified Mr2 Roadster, which ticks most of my boxes, yes including the looking like a big girl's blouse one, not the storage space one, but i'm looking to upgrade and spend some more money and move the game on.
It has to be a special car, otherwise i'd get bored and end up changing things. I'll have a van for work and this will be used solely for hooning and track days etc, not a garage queen but everyday use is not what i'm after.
So the short list.
TVR T350C - Already as mad as i'd really like it to be, get in, drive it and fix it when it breaks. Possibly buy a cheap one and build a 4.0 for it.
Porsche 911 993/996 C2 - Spend about £20k on the car and then £5k on a supercharger and bits to fit. Nope, not going to buy a turbo, don't want 4WD.
Lotus Elise S1/S2 - but with new suspension, brakes, a 2GR-FE engine and lots of other tasty bits.
Realistically a £25K F355 is going to cost a mint to run so that's off the list.
I own my own garage so servicing and repairs is not that much of an issue, other than cost of parts. I'd like to be able to take it on a European trip and not worry too much about fixing things as we go. The Porsche is most appealing as an all rounder, the T350 because of it's looks and the Elise because of it's mentalness.
Anything you can suggest that would give similar smiles per mile as these for the same money?
Not interested in any barges or a Skyline, has to handle superbly and stand out from the crowd. I love my Mr2 for the drama, noise and tail happy action but there's better to be had out there if i spend the pennies. What do you suggest?

£££££££££££I would avoid the Porsche 993 and 996 they seem to be oil leak galore. No not all of them leak but most I have seen at least have residue in places...
What about an Exige S2 for your budget? Better looking than an Elise, faster, newer etc and superchargers are cheap if they don't already have one fitted.
The t350 is a lovely car and i have been having a look at them since i was passed by one in a carpark weekend before last, what a noise!!

I owned an MR2 roadster as my last car and left it behind for the Impreza. The MR2 is a great car and i really do miss it, i even cried when i dropped it off, sad loser!!
I do love what i have though and cant see me parting with it even after 4 and a half years of ownership it still puts a big big smile on my face
No other car has done that before, normally i am itching to move on after a max of 12 months ownership!!

Beaten to it!!!Definately worth considering a Noble M12 too. Stonking cars performance wise and is (essentially) a Mondeo engine, just with 2 HEEEEEUUUUUGEEE turbo's glued to it. Goes like poo off a paddle and any fixes should be relatively budgetable. I did say should be. You can get a really good M12 GTO (the 2.5 one) or a pretty good M12 GTO3r (the 3.0 one) for that cash.
