Does anyone know this Cerbera?

I'm in two minds whether or not to go and have a look at this car, with the idea of trading my current car in against it. I'm just wondering if any of you lot know the car or have any information on it?

I went to see this on Saturday in Harrogate as I was visiting relatives a few miles away. I'd previously ruled it out as it was a long way from me but as I was up there I thought id look.

It is pretty much immaculate to look at, paintwork is spot on and the interior looks top notch. Everything works (except the air con). The photos don't do the colour justice, out in the sunshine the metallic blue looked fantastic.

Engine sounded sweet even from first start up, I drove it and the clutch, gearbox felt good and the engine pulled well. On the negative side it was very twitchy, every bump in the road sent the steering off - could be the tracking or camber set up maybe? or tyres.

Relatively High mileage at 61k in my opinion, but a fantastic service record.

I reckon it would be a very good car however I think it is overpriced for the year and mileage, and he would not budge on it. I've got 12k to spend so I could have bought it but I came away thinking that i could probably get either lower mileage or newer for the same money. But thats just they way ive looked at it.

A different set of rules when buying a Cerb.Its based on condition of car,rather than mileage and age. You could go out and buy a later car with Spiders and so forth. It wont make it a better car. It could well be a dog underneath.

Milage is spot on if you ask me, maybe a bit low as I will be catching that up with a 2001 cerb dam soon.

Looks like a good price for a good example - especially from a dealer.
Obviously I'm biased because I have a 1997 4.2, but I would ask at least that as a private sale.
Lots of us may have lower miles but I don't think that mileage is excessive for the age - shows it's been used. As long as the history shows everything has been maintained and replaced where necessary then it's not a problem.

I didn't mean that you could go out and buy a worse condition one for less money! thats obvious. This one was in lovely condition but I went to see a green one that was in equally good condition with equally good history but had 31k miles for 11.5k so id say this blue one was expensive thats all, not detering from the fact that it would be a good car

What I am saying is that if you look at the other cerbs for sale at the minute for 12k they are in equally good condition with equally good history but with lower miles or slightly newer

I appreciate you buy on condition but at the same time if 2 cars are equally good condition and the same price your going to sway towards the one with less mileage

If you are trading in then you will be highly unlikely to get them to budge on price. If you are paying with cash or using their finance then you will no doubt get the price lowered.

I would suggest you go for the car that has been well used rather than doing a handful of miles each year. But if both cars are in the 'well used' category I can understand why the lower miles would attract (assuming they are indetical condition and spec (unlikely)).
