Quick 4 seater suggestions

With a cost of £15-£20k

0-100 mph in about 10 secs, I know this isn't everything, but as a rough benchmark for this type of post.
Car would be used nearly every day, all year, but for only about 3000 miles a year. Insurance cost not an issue. Ideally a standard car rather than modified. 2 doors not a problem, rear leg-room only enough for a 5 year old required.

Things I've thought of so far - Cerbera, Evo 400FQ or similar, 996, all very different cars with different errm 'issues'

Something like a maserati biturbo would fit the bill. Be a brave man that bought one though!

Lotus Carlton (with modifications as this will only do it in 11.5 seconds). NEXT.



Brabus 7.2 v12 E Class has a change.

E55 AMG Supercharged 5.5 ltr - modified has a chance of getting there.

Out of that list it's the Cerbera for me - It's the DADDY

XJR 370bhp's are 12.5 seconds to 60 which is a world away from a 10 second car.
Its no different to saying you want a 6 second to 60 car then getting suggestions of 7.5 seconds worlds apart.

All lovely cars but none are 10 second cars in fact I dont think one betters 12 seconds...

A 10 second car to 100mph is very special and very rare - a 4 seater 10 second car STD Im guessing Ferrari 612.

Even modified that list might not do it unless very modified.

E39 M5, its going to be a bit slower than you are after. But finding a reliable 10sec car for that money is a tall task unless you go down the Jap route (but FQ400's arent the most friendly dailys!)

Also get quite a new car for the money with the BM, nice interior aswell.

I'd have thought a more realistic target is needed.

I mean is 10 sec 0-100mph really all that important. Would you truly be able to tell most of the time compared to a 12 or 13 sec 0-100mph car?

Also as non of these are new and all out of warranty what's the problem with modified? Even more so when you highlight an FQ400, which is really just modified by the factory then charged to the custom at a hefty premium for doing the same in the after market.


Aside from the ones mentioned already, the 300C/Magnum/Charger SRT-8 are 11.6 0-100mph cars in stock trim.


A tweaked XJR would probably be the easiest way or a BMW M5. Maybe some form of AMG Merc but don't know any stats.

"10 second car" means 10 second 1/4 mile time, which is Veyron territory and faster.
