Looking for someone to build cars/Kitcars with us in Fareham.
Does not need to be a mechanic as fabrication, wiring, trimming etc skills are more important.
Attention to detail and pride in work are essential.

So are you looking for an apprentice? Or are you looking for an already qualified / experienced fabricator?

We have no plans or the facility to run an apprenticeship however that does not preclude us teaching someone about building cars.
The person we are looking for will have a passion for cars but does not have to have any formal qualifications. Basic skills akin to DIY will be more relevant than those of a mechanic.

If you feel this is you then please PM or mail me so we can discuss it further.

Oh, would make an interesting career change for me. Shame I have to work during your open day.

I'd love to. When i left the Marines 2 1/2 years ago i requalified as a Goldsmith so manufacturing, small scale fabrication and metal work are familiar to me. Having built 2 rally cars aswell this really does sound good. Shame im stuck in the family (in-laws) jewellery repair buisness as i'd have seriously looked at this as an option. Good luck in your search.

You seem to be doing pretty well for yourself though. Jewellery must be an interesting occupation. I've been in the same company for a few years, selling boats and I do enjoy it but I do sometimes think what it would be like to do something different, especially with cars. I got offered a good job with Apple selling to schools and universities after going through the interviews etc. but turned it down as it wasn't something that would excite me!

I'd like to drop by Southways at some point. I'll have to try and make a trip over.

Might be doing ok but you can't substitute money for enjoyment. Its rare to have both but if you can get it then you are on your way to a happy life. I left the marines for a better wage, I'd give it all up tomorrow and go back in a flash. I've made my bed and have got to lie in it, but if you have room to manouvre then go for it.

Oh I understand that fully. I turned down a job at Apple which would have been a lot more money than my current job as it didn't sound particularly fun. At least I'm out on the water quite often, I just wish the weather would make it enjoyable.

Sorry to have gatecrashed your thread somewhat.

I am actually quite keen, depending on a few things. I would need to have a look around your place at some point but I'm working everyday until mid October with the exception of one weekend away!

I may be able to have a look round your place the morning of Friday 24th September before I go away.
