Recently returned from cruise to Russia and on ship they were selling new Faberge items including a limited edition watch - 1 of 25 in series. It came enclosed within a gold engraved egg ( size of a large goose egg) which was itself in a large leather bound presentation box. Price was £14000. Is this likely to be a good investment?

To buy an investment watch, you need to identify a watch that nobody cares about now but everyone will lust after in 20 years' time. Which is 237.8% as tricky as deciding which shares to buy now...

Thanks for the replies. I did not buy one - would have had to sell my TVR to do so ( no chance of that!). The watch itself was very elegant with a classically simple face and an subtle alligator skin strap. - none of your Rolex / Tag bling. The egg case was nicely engraved but was rather bright!
