Left hand drive in the UK ?

Our previous Fiat was a left hooker and it wasnt an issue, compared to it conking out when it felt like it, least of our worries.

I really want a Mk2 Golf again with the 20 valve turbo engine, a few seem to be left hand drive, now I dont see it as an issue but what is it like living with a LHD all the time ? I dont do much driving really as I cycle to work seven miles away and we have another car, so what are the actual issues other than problems at barriers and stuff ? is the insurance more expensive ?

I've run a LHD car for 6+ years now. AFAIK Insurance is slightly more for LHD in the UK. But it's not a massive amount. More a cursory charge. insurance is sich an individual thing anyway, unless you ran a LHD and RHD version of the exact same car back to back you'd never know 100%

No issues whatsoever IMHO. Even car park barriers aren't a problem really, you have plenty of time get back over. I've driven one for the past six years and even have a dog-leg gearbox 'to boot'. Get one if you want one and don't worry, you will adapt (but you already know that, having previously owned one I guess). And insurance is no worries, I've just insured my M3 for just £50 more than my wife's Daihatsu Terrios!

Insurance doesn't seem to be much different, especially for a specialist car like that, so if you've already happily lived with LHD once, I don't see why you shouldn't again.

Driven lefties for years as dailys and bar the occassional tricky moment at multi-storey barriers never had a problem.

Anyone else think it makes the right car a bit more special, or is that just more of my strangeness coming out
