fiat punto problems

Hi my son has a p reg fiat punto it has a intermitent fault , for some reason
every now and again it wont start it just spins but wont fire up. Most of the time it starts straight away. I have changed the coils and leads (one was poor).I am not getting any warnings on dash for coded key but would guess the problem is still electrical (he only has the 1 brown key). Any advise would be appreciated.
