hitting the rev limiter

I just hope 800+ will be enough!!
Oh believe me it is!
Took my little Can-Am 830 out for a blast this morning and scared myself silly! I am in serious need of a BIG shift light cos things are happening a little on the quick side these days. I think I nearly saw 7000rpm on the tacho! Must change my rev limiter tomorrow.not really from what i hear the ls7 is not the engine you want to turbotune and the real expensive thing is the gear box you will then need. I think if you want more than what the ls7 is offering you should go with a lsx or ls3 based turbotune like kyle does. probably not more expensive than a ls7 setup however the gear box cost will stay.

Hi UveWe have a cheap option for ProCharging from the LS family, you could see 800+bhp for less than crate LS7 money!!! A little more weight( 60 lbs) but as strong as a strong thing.
I think there a couple of trannies that will be able to cope with the power.
The 7 would need some serious money spending on it to run twin turbos imo, Boosted will be better placed to help you with that.
Im on the dyno with the DTA LSX on Wednesday so please keep your fingers crossed for us
Boosted would be better placed to answer...
you would need...
new rods, cam, liners, arp, dropped compression pistons, head gaskets, exhaust manifolds, ecu, forged crank etc etc
you would not be keeping a lot of the original engine so why start with it? a steel block or liners would be a must along with a big wallet.

Are these cars generally used for road driving or are they dedicated track cars running slick tyres exclusively?
My daily driver has 450bhp and I agree that you can get used to it very quickly. However, I can't see how much more power could be usefully employed without traction control kicking in all the time and ruining the experience anyway. I imaginge that without traction and/or launch control these huge ponies would be extremely difficult to use. Or am I just chicken?

I actually think that for ultimate all-round use a genuine 650-750HP motor will be spot on....bigger figures are only going to be needed for speed/time comps....my 2p'th.

If it's anything like mine it's not a gear but a 'Hyperspace button'.
it will be quicker
