Project Audi S3
Discussion
Lost the origional thread for this as have not been on here for so long..
But anyway.. it started off like this.
But then this happend..
So i did this..
And got it stripped down to find no3 conrod looking like this..
And thats where the project stayed for a very long time while i saved up money to buy some goodies
After a long wait i got a parcel on friday..
Which contained these
Old and new
Also got some nice shiney bolts to bolt them together
Next on the list is some nice new pistons..
So thats where it is for now.. but I will update with progress as i get more done. If anyones interested in this sort of thing

looks like you could end up going for some serious power, whilst the engines open why not.
assuming you are doing other engine mods as it would be rude not to have you got any suspension chassis ideas yet? i heard the haldex controller makes a big difference.
my only gripes with standard s3`s was that the steering was very lifeless/numb and the engine was far too muted, otherwise i like them a lot.

It will stay standard power for a while to get everything bedded in and make sure its running spot on. Then i will get a good properly set up re-map, and a little further down the line it will be getting a bigger turbo
Suspension, again standard for the time being but i will get some decent coilovers on it one of these days. The BBS wheels are sold now and its back on its origional S3 wheels. Change of plan with the exterior, i want it looking a standard a S3.
Its a long term project really, its sorn'd and kept in a barn on the farm so im not rushing things or cutting corners.

I look forward to seeing this progress, I have an S3 that's got slightly worse injuries than yours , my conrod broke and made a bid for freedom.
Whats happening with yours? Is it being repaired or broken for parts? Was tempted to break this when it first happened, but after I had cooled down I decided to keep it.soad said:
Ah thats the one cheers, but i may aswell keep with this one now Shall be ordering the pistons this week hopefully.. once i get those, and a set of new shell bearings then i can start putting it all back together. Going to replace pretty much all of the engine components such as oil pump and water pump ect along the way too. This engine building malarky is going to prove very expensive
Will try to take some pictures of things as i go along
