Booker airfield
Discussion
Had a quick look round Booker airfield this afternoon and came across what appeared to be most of a dismantled Meteor being delivered to a hangar. The place it was being delivered to had a lot of aircraft pieces (too big to call them parts) including what looked like a B25 fuselage.
It all seemed a bit ambitious for restoration, but too historic for a scrapyard. At a guess this was something to do with the restorers on the airfield (personal plane services?) but does anyone know what's going on?

The only recognisable bit was the wing centre section with two engine cowlings and a bit of fuselage, I'll have a closer look next time I'm passing.
PS, I've had a look, and WH291 was clearly visible on a rear fuselage section, so the F8. Though I'm not saying all the bits were necessarily from the same aircraft.

Sounds like Barry Parkhouse's unit. He's moved a lot of aircraft over the years, and has been clearing out the defunct museum at Lasham recently, which would be a good candidate for the Meteor you saw.
Sounds very much like Parkhouse Aviation, used to love going in there and seeing what he had in storage. Was it him that owned the Lightning that used to grace the entrance?Gassing Station | Boats, Planes & Trains | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
