Nicola,
They are one of the standard sizes 17 or 19mm IIRC (17 I think). However if you haven't got a socket set with the standard range of 3 sizes and/or are having to ask this then are you really doing the right thing getting in the engine bay? I recognise I may be well off the mark here but it could get very expensive if you get things wrong.
As was said in your welcome post, I would seriously suggest you touch base with another owner living nearby through your local area TVRCC rep. Being the RO for Devon though I am too far away to help.
Taking your other post there is little info to go on to helpo though, but if the car won't start then the following may help diagnose:
When you put the key to the position 2 do you hear the fuel pump prime and pump up then stop? - if not fuel pump problem
When you then turn the key, does it turn over? - If not then starter motor problem
If it does does it fire and die, or not fire at all? - If fires and then dies probably fuel related, but a bit more tricky, if it doesn't fire and fuel pump ok now need to determine whether fuel getting to the cylinders
To do this turn over and then remove spark plug and see if it smells of fuel, not categoric but will certainly tell you if it is getting there.
Once you've checked this then you should have narrowed down to fuel or electrics and then I could give you some more to pursue, as will others.
