Brake Fluid Change!

Hi All

I'm going to tackle changing my brake fluid completely tomorrow having boiled it at Bruntingthorpe.

I've already been round all the calliper bleed nipples with plus gas to soak overnight.

Are then any other hints and tips that may help in this "straight forward" task.

I'm planning to lift all four corners of the car and lower her onto huge wooden blocks placed under the corners of the outriggers on the drive to enable all wheels to be removed together.

Any comments appreciated.

Use proper axle stands (under the outriggers), far far safer.

The blocks I have are quite substantial. They are 18" long pieces of railway sleeper so I'm hoping they'll be OK.

Early start too, just in case anything goes wrong.

Hi All

Job done, all 8 bleed nipples gave no problem at all as I sprayed them with Plus Gas yesterday. Did it the old fashioned way with a trusty helper pumping the brake pedal to my "on.......off" command, A piece of clear pipe and a catch bottle, used 1.5ltr of fresh fluid altogether.

Well pleased, another 1.5hr DIY job with no hitches or mishaps.
