how many different(non ford)cars have the same mondeo 2 ltr engine not including
kit cars.

I am not aware of any. Mazda may have used a modified version as they share many components with Ford. I believe the latest generation Duratech is a Mazda based design.

I can't think of any of the usual suspects using the Zetec. (Morgan, Noble etc.)

Can I ask why you asked the question?

Hardly any really. Some of the American Mercury cars had them but that's about it.

just curiosity really i know that some other makes share engines etc
and because ford own other known brands, how much do they interchange
with each other.
For example the chrysler crossfire is basically a mercedes sl (apparently)

I think some of them do have Yamaha designed components. Not sure which though.
