Car mats,,,,DIY

I've been looking for some mats for my Jag for a while but the quality of aftermarket mats seems to be just rubbish. Even the so called "Premium" quality sets use material so thin it's pathetic and the cheapo ones aren't even carpet as such, more thick velour.

Anyway i've had a think and am going to make my own. Plan is to use the carpets in the car as patterns and buy some off cuts of nice thick carpet from a carpet store....i'll cut them to shape and find somebody to bind/whip the edges.

Hopefully for the price of a one of the "Premium" sets above and a few hours toil i'll have lovely thick car mats!!

Get some tailored ones made up. They usually have a choice of quality. You get what you pay for.

Plenty of places online you can get them done.
