DVD to PVR

I've been trying to work this out for a while without success so I put this out to the PH collective.

It's a simple one in that I'd like to record DVDs to my (humax) PVR, Except I can't work out how to do it. The DVD and PVR are connected via SCART and if I press "source", the PVR will switch to DVD and vice versa. (Not sure if that's relevant though).

I don't know if I'm missing something obvious, so can someone enlighten me at all please?

If it doesn't say how to do this you probably can't do it with a standard box, which is most likely to do with copy protection.

And what about if I wanted to record from another source - like a Sky box or something?

I'll re-read the manual, re-google it and go from there.

Have you tried the HuMAX site -sure I saw something on there about other set ups .

Only other thing that comes to mind is to use a three way scart box ,and use TV as a monitor with all thre sockets connected together ..

Output of DVD to scart 1
Input of PVR to scart 2
TV to scart 3 .

The Humax will only record from its in-built tuner. You can't record from an external source. Even if you have software for copying stuff from and to the PVR, it still won't display it as it won't get into the menu (listing) system.

Some Humax PVR TV's will, but the PVR boxes dont recored from an external source.
