alpine road

Hi, new member to the forum, not quite sure how this works. Planning road trip for next Easter, through Southern Germany, Austria and then into Northern Italy and would like to take in one of the Alpine passes on route, good scenery and good driving. Trouble being in mid April the ones like the Stelvio will be closed, although that might make the wife sick with all those hairpins. Does this just leave me the Brenner Pass,which I believe is more of a motorway, or am I wrong?
