XK Head Rests not working
Discussion
Just for info really in case anyone else has the same issue in the future. The headrests on my 2002 (2003MY) XKR packed up recently, strangely on both sides at similar times. Basically when trying to adjust the headrests you could hear the motor moving but the headrests were not moving. Similarly when pulling the seat forward to get in the back they were not lowering so banged the roof.
Bit of a google I came across a Jaguar Service Bulletin then a very handy YouTube video detailing the repair.

It's a bit of a b
d job but worked a treat on mine. Should be a bit easier when I attempt the other seat later.
Cheers,
Graham

This is a pretty well known issue and talked about in quite some detail on jaguarforums.com. In fact there was a TSB by Jaguar about this and I had provided a do-it-yourself fix with photos (provided by another Jag enthusiast--Steve Hannes). I had to do this fix about 3 or 4 times now since the first time I used flimsy heatshrink tubing that ended up not holding the spliced cable together well enough.
