Had a good day yesterday there seemed to be a lot of porsches there any of you lads?

Took my Westfield Megabusa that has just been turbocharged, tried to run it in but spun twice in the morning just tootling round! Felt sorry for the owner of the new GT3 that had a bit of an off!

In the afternoon it dried up I took my TVR T350 out but took it easy, was impressed by the standard of driving especially the couple of GT3 RS boys.

All in all not a bad day once it dried out.

A very good day, although as you say a bit damp in the morning.

I was in the yellow Caterham sat looking at you after one of your morning spins.

And I do remember looking at you after I spun across the track in front of you!

Was hard to get used to the power of the car in the wet but in the afternoon it was gripping a lot better. A mate of mine took it out (he can drive!)and the passenger threw up in his helmet!!

Had the boost turned right down gonna have to get some slicks. Thanks for waiting till I stopped spinning....!

Twas there in white 911 Cup Car. Great track -my favourite. Interesting on slicks in the morning....

Thanx for the ride Jezza, I'll have to have my smile surgically removed!!

Apparently, one of Easytracks regular customers in a Lotus Elise complained about how fast the Porsches were going....

The white / blue GT3RS was the fastest by a long way but the rumour is that is is a Walter Rohl blueprinted special with N'Ring suspension and ECU, it certainly seemed fast, very much faster than any other.

Nope, that's bolleaux, it's a totally standard RS, just got a bloody good driver in Ian who has a lot of race experience.

For some reason I never got to have a bash at Ian or Melv during the day, but I distinctly remember blowing away a lot of Lotuses, a new M3 CSL, a couple of GT3RS (white/red) and a certain Mr. Foggy in a blue Westfield (or similar).

A great day, bit cold/damp in the morning but at least most folk took it easy and played their way carefully into the day. Loads of grip in the afternoon, just a shame I had despatched a full 90 litres of Optimax by then and had to scrounge some in order to run for the last 30 minutes! Still, over 200Km flat out at 7mpg average is not a bad day's fun.

Carl reckons no one passed him until the pipe blew off the turbo! He says are you sure he was driving at the time?? Typical....hates losing at anything.

I was actually trying to run the westfield in and had 2 spins in the morning not even trying. I was very impressed with the GT 3 RS's and played with them in my TVR T350 for part of the odd lap or 2.

I seemed to have leave them in 2nd and 3rd gear out of the chicane over the hill but couldn't live with them under breaking and round the bends.

My brother was going to bring his 02 GT2 that he has had chipped but he couldn't make it, after seeing what happened to the silver GT3 maybe he did himself a favour. Anyone know him or the car?

Hi guys

It was a damn good day, luckily my beauty sleep meant I missed the action packed early morning session...

Spotted barefoot in the T350 being hassled by Mr Howells in his 993 race car! Those T350s are quite lively, they like to lock up the rears changing down if you're not careful. That and the holeshot 'busa mean you must be brave or mad or both

Cheers to 9M and Mark for taking Andy out in the 993RSR (and cheers to Jeremy for the optimax that made it possible!). Andy was going on about it all the way home. Apparently Mark took the easyjet option through Druids and the smoke eminating from various bits of cooked car afterwards was testimony to the spanking it enjoyed

Thanks also to Jez and Melv for the passenger laps. Hopefully Andy has some inspiration to finish the baron now. However, I think he was rather taken by the supercharged 944 and may be ringing Colin soon re getting hold of the bits for his newly acquired exScottster 968CS... the baron will no doubt then go on the 'To do, 2005' list

Nice to meet Tony.T and see whitechimp500 and civic type-r mate again.

Cheers guys - look forward to doing Oulton again.

He bloody would say that now, wouldn't he, but I can vouch for the fact that there was sod all wrong with his car at the time as it took a bit of an effort to pass him at full chat, mind you, I did not know it was him until my passenger pointed it out.
At the time he was having a dig at a grey M3CSL which allowed me to get up behind him on the pit straight; careful choice of line let me have a clean run on his shoulder over the top of Dentons, slingshotting out of Cascades and taking him up the inside on the run down to Island. Of course the M3CSL jam car in front helped - I threw caution to the wind and took the Bimmer as well by outbraking him into Island, Foggy had no choice but to tuck in behind the Bimmer. Deed done.

Nicely done 9m...but the above explanation sounds more like something out of a round of the Porsche Open than an easytrack day!

What happened with the Gt3? was it wet? inexperienced driver? or any other on the limit trait of this model?

Sorry we didn't get to chat Jason - hope you had a good day.

By the way, your nearside brake light isn't working.

Sorry Frogisland if I cut in on your line, its just that with the "overtaking on the left only" rule diving through on the inside up to Island is a very loose interpretation of track day ettiquete. The bottom line is that I was committed to blowing past the M3 as well as Foggy and then noticed you at the last minute, there was simply no where else to go.....

Nice to see the 968 on the circuit, we cannot wait to get our yellow CS out there with its supercharger. Did you notice the white 944 of Paul's thundering around? You should have - he has 968CS running gear and a blower installed - running on slicks he was nearly as fast as my RSR.

Of course she will. Then you'll have more money and more time to play with cars

Unofficially, late on in the day I was lapping in the 1:51 to 1:52 range, maybe a second ahead of the supercharged 944. Apparently I was earlier timed by "someone who shall remain nameless" at 3.0 secs a lap faster than Burzel in his 993 Cup car, although he did speed up later so I reckon it was closer to 2.9 by end of play......

Definitely faster earlier on were the gruesome twosome in their black 964RSR/motec and yellow 964RSL/motec +1. Both showed me a clean pair of heels after I started scrubbing up my old P Zeros as if both JC and RG were on some sort of low flying mission.

Apparently the GT3 came a cropper due to a heavy application of right foot in the damp conditions, lost the back end under clay hill bridge and then hit armco on left, wiped out two corners then shot across to the other side of the track to take off the other two. Driver was fine, if a lot shaken. No names, no pack drill on this, you never know who is reading, ok?

The Rubystone 964RS that overtook me on the grass going down to cascades was obviously loosely interpreting the overtaking on the left rule . Unfortunatly he forgot to go round the corner.
The mint green 964RS that overtook me under braking going into knickerbrook, right in front of the marshal, was lucky not to be black flagged.
