front indicators bau 2249.
Discussion
over the past couple of months i have been trying to locate the original moulds for the much sought after front indicators bau 2249, also used on the sherpa vans and dlv 400's.
with the demise of rover and change of ownership the answer wasnot really hard in the end: a lot of the stuff has gone to china and quite a lot of non-contemporary stuff has been trashed,including the moulds for the bau 2249, sorry to hear.
i have then been looking into a way of reproducing these units from a couple of new ones i still have, and it is possible to do this in small batches of 10 pairs each time, after which moulds have to be renewed.
the cost of this lies in the region of 109 euro per unit, 218 euro per pair, plus vat and shipping where applicable. so quite expensive indeed.

if the interest is too low, i will not fund the project myself and discard the idea of the reproduction permanently, leaving it up to yourselves how to solve front indicator problems.

thanks for your contribution, but i don't have the impression that anything is available off the shelf right now. can i buy lenses or units now from anyone should i need/want them? if so, where and @ which costs?
i keep getting calls and mails from people chasing the items: obviously no one has been able to help them out. your message does open up a prospect of which i haven't thought though: it would cut down on cost by 50% to have the lenses reproduced separately. on the other hand crashed units would need the assembly rather then just the lense.
