Walbro Carb - am I being thick?

Sorry, wasn't sure where to put this one so I'm sure a mod will find the correct location for me :P
Friend leant me a chainsaw at the weekend, a JCB branded "generic" 16" chainsaw. It's not been used for ages and was full of fuel, so I anticipated problems. Sure enough, ran for a bit then nothing - no fuel being pulled through. Not only that, but the primer bulb was rock hard, couldn't compress it, so I assumed that some deposits have worked their way through the carb and blocked it solid.
Absolutely fecked if I can get anything through though! Took the main feed and primer bulb lines off, and you can't blow through them at all, Nothing, not a jot will go through - but stripping every bit out the carb all seems fine?!
