After a dissapointingly awkward test drive in an r8 spyder last week could anyone advise me if its worth me looking at an f430?

Im 6ft5 but alot of that seems to be in my legs. I really struggled when manouevering the r8 at low speeds. My left leg was basically jammed between the steering wheel and centre console which made anything other than small wheel movements very awkward.

The centre console in the f430 looks to be a lot more suitable for me, im looking at a 5hr round trip to find out so i'd appreciate it if any of you taller drivers could advise me!

Yeah, go try a 430, the cabin at least feels roomier than an R8, don't know if it actually is though. 430's a better choice anyway smile

John.

ETA: I'm not massively tall at 6ft, but there's plenty of extra movement in my seat with my driving position so I would think you'll be fine. Why a 5hr trip to see one? no dealers more local just to have a sit in one?

John.

Not a definitive answer, but 6'1 and have lots and lots of room in my F430.

Surely you can get a seat in one before you do a 5hr journey?
Where are you based?

Lancaster's in Colchester? or is that the wrong part of East Anglia?

I would suggest to get the most room you need to look for a car without electric Daytona seats as these add height etc

Yep, Lancasters Colchester always have them and not too far away from you.

I'm only 5'8"(and a half!) and after I've had the car valeted and the b*ggers have moved the seat back I can't even reach the pedals!
Loads of room in a 430.

......and waaaay smaller inside than a 430! I'm 6' 5", sat in a couple of 430's and been surprised by the amount of room inside.

Agree... mine has electric daytonas and the seating postion is annoyingly high. Its one of only two things I dont like about a stupidly amazing car!

the other is no boot release on the keyfob!

F430's are simply EPIC

To be honest im ok in a 911, but its not what im looking for. If theres even more space in the f430 then it'll fit me just fine.

Thanks for the offer much appreciated but it seems like i'll definitely fit, so its straight to the dealer for me!smile

Hi, might not be of any help but I'm 6'5 and when looking at 360's I found the carbon sports seats to be much better for me (head/leg room) than the electric daytonas.

Have been in John's (steelj) 430 and it seemed OK although I was sitting on the wrong side wink

F430 has a couple of types of seat which I found one better than another (I am 6ft2) so try both!

I ended up with a Gallardo Spyder, because my head can poke out the top smile

Close, I'm in Wickford. I drive to Billericay pretty often to have a guitar lesson, I'll look out for you. If you don't mind me asking, what colour is the 430?
