I should clarify, I found the use of the happy smiley after watching a video engineered to cause unhappiness, to be rather odd.

apologies if i've missed it but only thing close to a humpback bridge i can see is the lad in a corsa with his missus at 5:30, he was driving too fast, sign or no sign.

EDLT aside from the really short clips at the end of the vid most of the accidents are real...

Personally, I don't think it's not shocking enough, I also believe that it or similar should at the very least be shown to all new drivers (and pref) old ones.

Sure, some of the clips look a bit too staged, but it's probably a fairly accurate representation of the chaos that happens on the road, somewhere, daily.

A few years back, I saw a chap driving like he stole it - young, little experience and he lost control on a bend purely through inexperience. His speed was below the maximum safe speed for the bend, but due to the incorrect line taken he clipped the bank, rolled it and landed on his roof. I was the first around the corner, and honestly thought it was unsurvivable. He was luckly, broken collar bone. The Police were amazed he 'walked' away, any passengers would almost have certainly been killed, or badly injured.

I was as white as a ghost (so I'm told) when I eventually got to my destination - a minor injury, but a scene I will never forget.

My sister and BIL will not let their children travel on any school trip unless the bus /coach has seatbelts. They either arrange for alternative transport, or they don't go, simple.

Might seem a little obsessive you would think. BIL is an ortherpedic surgeon, sis a doc - they see the result of accidents daily, often the BIL is up all night trying to put someone back together. Sometimes he is successful, sometimes not. I recall one incident recalled to me where a young man (motorcyclist) eventually lost a leg due to an approx 10 mph accident (apparently not his fault) - 10 mph, can you image that ...

Anything that might reduce this sort of thing has to be good.

I attand on occassion a 'young drivers day' at my local Fire station. They put it on because they're fed up of cutting kids out of cars. They show similar footage which seems to shock those in attendance. They've had fatals in carparks at speeds as low as 15mph, (and the person was in the car). They say, as part of their talk, that crash at 30mph and the car becomes part of you - certainly for the older cars that are often driven by youngsters, I can well believe it.

It always makes me drive home extra carefully ...

This ste keeps cropping up on my facebook feed too, what a bunch of crud. The only thought it provokes in me is how quickly I can delete the muppet who posted it from my friends list.
