Logbook issue?

I bought a 106 XS of Ebay 2 years ago for the bargain price of £93 (engine seized). Within the first week I had stripped the car for a spaceframed race project. There is no floor or front end, just a roof and the quarter panels. After pricing up the steel I decided on buying a car already caged/built.
I wish to keep the rearquarter panels and roof just incase I damage my current racing shell and wish to send the logbook back to the DVLA, because I have no use for it and the car will never see the road again. How do I go about this? only Three options on the form:
Get a new owner to own.. well nothing.
Say the car is Exported, fraud?
Get a Scrap Yard to say the Car was destroyed with them. Again fraud?

Must be a way of just waving anyright to the logbook/car and sending it back to DVLA??

Probably best to destroy the vin plates then send the V5 back as scrapped. Or if the new system is already in place, take vin plates to scrapyard and ask for cert of destruction.

Cheers for the advice. Will try the scrapyard approach. Hope it works, just would wish there was an option on the form saying 'Car Broken up for spares'.
