Tail Pipes

How far do the tail pipes stick through the grill?

This question gives a clue as to how close I am to completion.

Mine stick out past the rear body about 1/4 inch. I have a G50/52 which required the motor to be moved an inch forward. The factory has given you a generous amount of pipe work to help keep from melting the body.

if they stick too far out then they will catch on the grill when opening the back...... from zero to half inch seems OK on mine.

guys, one thing I did see, was a can-am with noise traps added to the ends for a track day. Because the pipes are so short, the hot gas went straight back to the grill and paintwork. The yellow bits or the car went very black! .. So beware if fitting noise traps.
