Cheap Car Hire in Alghero, Sardini (Italy)

Hi all, I'm off to Alghero on Friday and I'm after some cheap car hire. Everything seems very expensive from the price comparison sites (picking up and dropping off from the airport), so I'm wanting to try something cheap and local to the city centre.

I'm happy to get the bus from the airport to Alghero city centre, but from there does anyone have any links to cheap local car hire?

I just paid £142 for 7 days car hire from Cagliari airport. That's for their basic car with air-con.

We hired a car at the airport, wasn't that cheap as you say.

OT there is a spectacular coastal road (SP105 I think) South of Alghero, It would have been even better if I wasn't in a Nissan Micra
