Long term parking in Edinburgh -
Discussion
- Can it be done? I will moving to Edinburgh later on this month and am toying with the idea of using a car to get me to university and back as opposed to the train or bus. However I seem to have hit on a problem with parking - it costs a fair bit for a space & permit. Anyone know somewhere outside the city, which I could get to by cycling or a short bus ride, where it would be ok to park up for a few weeks?
Thank you in anticipation

Sorry, I think I've misunderstood what you want, I thought you meant to drive on a daily/weekly basis.
Just park it up anywhere outside the parking zones, it'll be fine. Having said that, for my peace of mind I'd just get the permit and park in/near Tcross.
FWIW, anywhere around Braids/Comiston Road would be fine; nice area with buses going straight out of town.

You used to be able to rent cheap garages across the City. I used to rent one for sweetie money in Morningside, a good few years back, things may have changed.
theres still some on gumtree for not silly money but there getting rarer now, esp in the bits round morning side and brunstfeild and the meadows no they have extended the parking control areas, im up at napier and was at watsons before and you used to be able park just about anywhere but the parking control now extends down to the bottom of myerside when it used to finish just before colinton rdGassing Station | Scotland | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
