Second 100A Fuse!

Ok, so who else has a second 100 amp fuse hidden down inside the battery compartment of their Tamora?
Car went dead last night as I went to start it, luckily in the garage at home. Checked the usual bits, I had bookmarked a thread on here that highlighted some checks which I did, including the 100 amp fuse under the air box. Still no fuel pump or immobiliser lights.
I decided it must be the connection to the battery so off came the wheel and out cam the battery. Sure enough the terminals were fairly well furred up, but so was the second fuse down there! When I started to clean around it, it just crumbled away.
Cleaned everything up, reassembled with a good layer of Terminal coating and the job was a good one, although the neighbours probably didn't appreciate the alarm going off :-D

I thought that was the PAS fuse, and the 'normal' location for the second main fuse was in the passenger footwell behind the end panel? I guess your car (and maybe others) are different.
Glad you've sorted it now. Make sure all the battery cables are well wrapped and not chafinf on anything, especially the chassis. Do a search for threads on the resultant fire hazard.

There are 3 high amp fuses I am aware of having had cause to check them at weekend.....Car went dead last night as I went to start it, luckily in the garage at home. 1) Under the aibox 100A midi (I upgraded this to a 125A)
2) PS footwell mounted to the bulhead 80A midi
3) in the batterybox (for the PS pump) 80A midi

Cheers, the one in the battery box also seems to supply the immobiliser. Must admit I didn't find the one in the PS footwell. 1) Under the aibox 100A midi (I upgraded this to a 125A)
2) PS footwell mounted to the bulhead 80A midi
3) in the batterybox (for the PS pump) 80A midi

) and found the one in the batterybox!
The relay on the PS pump is only rated to 45A. Not sure what else is pulling current through the fuse in the footwell & battery box?) and found the one in the batterybox! Shep
